Thanks to everyone who stopped by my booth at Oktoberfest in Havana, Illinois last weekend. It was a great first venture for me. I was struck by how many young children seemed fascinated by my paintings of the Water Tower, the Bridge, and others. Kids have such natural curiosity, and of course they love to draw and paint. The surprise hit of the weekend was my pastel painting called 'Matanza River View.' So many people recognized The Cut, that slim strip of land that floods over from the Illinois River into Lake Matanza when the high water comes down from Chicago.
